To say Western Michigan Football is excited about their 2015 signing class is an understatement. In fact they are over the moon about every single player that they signed and if you followed their twitter feed this morning it was very clear.

All National Letters of Intent were singed by 8:52am for the Broncos and that is a plus because now as fans we can look at what the future of the program is going to look like. One of the nicest surprises was again, where Western Michigan recruited their players from. Like the tweet says above 80% of this years class is from a 6 hour radius from campus.

Some of the notable Michigan names signed today include;

Wesley French An offensive tackle from Saint Joe Michigan is ranked as the 15th best player in the state of Michigan by 247sports.com. He is a big tackle clocking in at 6 foot 5 inches and 300 pounds. However, he doesn’t carry a lot of bad weight Allen Trieu of Scout.com said. Looking at his tape he has noticeably athleticism. French also had an offer from Iowa State and Western Michigan in state rival Central Michigan. French said that Western Michigan was first choice overall and that they had the best program to help him with his football career.

 Jon Wassink With this class there were 18 multi-sport athletes that signed with Western Michigan Football. Jon Wassink was one of them. After signing his letter of intent Wassink will be gearing up for his senior year of basketball at South Christian. Along with the multi-sport athletes he falls in with the 3 players who were state championships. Wassink led South Christian to Division 4 State Title this past season with a 12-2 record. He is very excited to come to Western Michigan and help row the boat.

"“It’s good to have it all over with, but it’s also very exciting,” Wassink said. “I’m really excited to play at Western Michigan, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”"

Parker Underwood Getting players from in conference rivals is always fun, with Parker Underwood that is what the Broncos did. The tight end out of East Lansing was also scouted by the Toledo Rockets and even had an offer from them in April, but chose Western Michigan Football. He is ranked as the 84th best TE by 247sports.com and is the 55th ranked prospect in Michigan. Besides being a helping hand in the receiving core, Underwood can also block and help the running backs get extra yards.

"“I love getting down there and doing what I have to do to help the running backs or help the quarterback or whatever”"

One big name, maybe more for his name rather than his play, even though that is something interesting to watch, is Tom Flacco. The younger brother of two-time Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Raven Joe Flacco. Flacco was a grey shirt for the 2014 season but is included in the 2015 signing class.

Being a grey shirt meant that Flacco could enroll at Western Michigan University early, so the 2015 Spring semester, however he couldn’t work out with the team until the spring practices start in 2015. The grey shirt approach is kind of new and Flacco said it was brought to him by Wester Michigan and he liked the idea.

Flacco went to Easter High School in South Jersey. Flacco threw for 2,782 yards and 25 touchdowns and he ran for 641 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground. He also falls into that multi-sport athlete bracket. He was also a baseball prospect and was even drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 32 round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft.

It will be interesting to see if any of these new players will have any impact on the team in the upcoming 2015 season. Jarvion Franklin was a true freshman last season and had a spectacular break out season that is leading to a bright future with the Western Michigan Football program.
