This is one I saw just week. While Jones-Drew is not yet a free agent it is widely expected that he will be soon enough. This is blatantly all about name recognition. Jones-drew at one point 4 years ago was an exciting running back that would truck defenders to the ground on a regular basis. What Jones-Drew is now is a running back that ran for 96 yards this past season.

Going on 30 years old this March, Maurice has done his best work and those days are behind him. The Lions need a young back that can grow with the team, not a 30-year-old back that has a history of contract battles and injuries.
