Okay this is my “I wish this would happen, but I know it probably won’t” trade. Again, another Toronto Maple Leaf who gets hounded by the media far too much and could use a new place of play is Phil Kessel. I also don’t think he will end up being moved but then again, it is Toronto and anything can happen there.
You might have heard that Toronto media has called Kessel a coach killer, fat, mean things. Yet Phillip Kessel is a good freaking hockey player who can play hockey really well. Firstly this guy beat cancer and no matter what, that makes you a strong person.

He has 20 goals with 22 assists on the season making him have 48 points on the season. This guy is a good player who just gets far too much flack from the media and parts of his own fan base.
He like Phaneuf has a long contract but he is also 27 and while Phaneuf is a good player in his own respects Kessel is a really good player that I may not fully start a team around, but I’m also not going to not take him. He plays hard and while people call him a coach killer, I don’t think he is. Guys who have hissy fits and yell at coaches all the time and are just considered a pain in the ass, those are coach killers. Then with the fat comments, come on, can we act like adults here?
