Vereen is more of a risky project. The sense with Shane is that in the right scheme he could shine. The Patriots are more of a pass first offense where as the Lions are looking to be a balanced attack. Vereen brings speed and agility to the table and will also be an inexpensive option. The risk is that Vereen is coming off a less than spectacular season and has really proved nothing in his time in the NFL. this signing would be more like playing a hunch than a sure thing. But like I said it would be super cheap and the Lions still have a cow at home.
