Growing up I was always told, be careful about what you put on the internet because it will come back one day and it could haunt you. That could also be said about basically anything you do in your life, and for Detroit Tigers manager Brad Ausmus I give you the same advice my parents gave me as you join the Twitterverse; don’t post like an idiot and don’t pay mind to most people.
Ausmus will be the 4th Major League Baseball manager who has a verified Twitter account. Texas Rangers Jeff Banister, Houston Astros AJ Hinch, Chicago Cubs Joe Maddon all have the blue check verified accounts and there are also accounts for the Los Angeles Angels Mike Matheny and Miami Marlins manager Mike Redmond both have accounts but don’t have the blue check, but, the tweets make it seem like they are the managers accounts.
I’ve never understood the attraction that Twitter and Facebook has to famous people and athletes. Basically social media sites are just seas of people who either hate you, like you or just don’t care about you. Really the main thing that would keep me away from running my own social media sites if I was famous would be that first group of people, the people who hated me.

People say some of the harshest things either indirectly or directly to those famous people or athletes. Then as a watcher you get to see if that famous person responds, which 9 times out of 10 they tend not to because it is just very difficult to see every single tweet but sometimes the mean person who has far too much time on their gets to the athlete and well the outcome is sometimes funny or just terrible.
Earlier this year San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick tweeted this simple tweet.
To which then a fan responded to him and the interaction between them is pretty funny.

So why any person who is famous in any way would want Twitter makes little to no sense to me. However Brad Ausmus has done it because in his words he will use it to refute articles written about him. Also, he may start a Twitter feud with another famous person and just flat our rant.
"“I’ll probably have a rant, a Twitter rant, sometime, … Maybe get in a Twitter feud with, like, Taylor Swift. Break the Internet eventually, I’m sure.”"
With that being said, he more than likely wasn’t serious about breaking the internet or actually starting a Twitter feud with Miss. Swift but using it to refute articles written in the media, while makes some sense just seems a little silly for a MLB manager to do. However he also has the right to do so, and that is his choice. If anything the account will get used little and when he does tweet it will be 4 paged Don Cherry like tweets explaining his opinion on something that is happening. At the moment this is the only tweet that is on the new Ausmus account.
If you would like to follow Brad Ausmus his handel is @BradAusmus07. He has around 12 thousand followers at the moment and only follows 9 people who is a few more than he was following this morning. By the way the 5th person that he followed was Taylor Swift.
