Justin Verlander

Sticking with pitchers, one starter that you are going to want to keep an eye on throughout spring would be Justin Verlander. There have been rumors and ideas throughout Twitter and other places that this could be the first year in many that Verlander will not be the opening day starter. In fact if you go look at the Tigers starting rotation on the official website, it has David Price listed first not Verlander.

Yet, while the talkings throughout Twitter and new sources or simply rumors at this point and have no substance besides the official site having them lined that way. There is also word and actual proof that Verlander is having a strong start to the spring. If anything this tweet says a lot.

The first time you will get to see Verlander pitch is this Saturday as the Tigers take on the Atlanta Braves. He doesn’t have to be the spectacular pitcher he has been in the past but he has to be able to still be the ace of the team. Look at all his stats basically. See how many walks, strikeouts and home runs he gives up. Here is to hoping his hot spring keeps up.
