So happy new year to the Detroit Lions as they look to life without the aforementioned Suh. It is reported that the Lions are trading draft picks. With this deal the Lions are getting a huge pick up at a position that many weren’t sure how they were going to fill with the departure of Suh.
So who is Haloti Ngata? He is a 5 time pro bowler who has been a constant player for the Baltimore Ravens. On his career he has 446 tackles, 25.5 sacks, and 5 interceptions.

He is a big body who will be similar to Suh that he will more than likely be double teamed letting other players get through and give opposing offenses a difficult time when they play to the Lions.
The reason it seems that Ngata is being traded is that he would not take a pay cut and has a $16 million dollar cap hit. He was unwilling to renegotiate his contract and so he was shipped out to the Detroit lions who needed a player like him.
Ravens insider Aaron Wilson reported on his twitter account that the Lions have traded only draft picks for the defensive tackle.
