Health: Josh Bynes has managed to stay healthy his entire career, Can he handle a larger role? We shall soon find out.
Grade: 5
Big Play: With little to go on it’s hard to make a ruling here. What inspires me about Bynes is his late season play last year. He started it off with a big interception against the Cardinals. Bynes probably won’t be on Sports Center highlights but he doesn’t have to be.
Grade: 2.5
Dependability: Bynes strong play to close out the season showed that he can provide solid depth and rotate into the starting lineup if needed.
Grade: 3
Smart Play: Bynes was flagged 4 times this past season, not bad considering Levy had 8. It’s hard to make a final ruling based off lack of playing time.
Grade: 3
Impact: I may be way overstating this, but Bynes could be the under the radar signing that fans will be ecstatic the Lions made come next season. In some ways he’s the Lions forgotten linebacker, but I believe he will challenge Kyle Van Noy for the open spot at linebacker.
Grade: 4
Final Grade: 17.5
