Grading the Detroit Lions Free Agent acquisitions

It’s incredibly hard to grade a kicker. What I will say about this signing is it makes perfect sense for both parties. Prater has shown that he is clean and sober and has no plans to relapse. In a way it feels as though being with the Lions and the tight-knit special teams unit has reinforced his will to stay on the straight and narrow.

On the field Prater was able to shake off the rust early and become almost automatic. Even if it seems like he was aiming for the goal post at times.
