One common misconceptions is that if the Lions don’t indeed sign Justin Blalock is that the waters have run dry beyond him. There is still a market for guards out there. Enter Gabe Carimi.

The former 1st round pick of the Chicago Bears has been considered to be a failure by many Bears fans ad media alike. He has bounced around the league since leaving Chicago, having stints in Tampa Bay and Atlanta. This past season Carimi played all 16 games for the Falcons and started 7 of them.

At only 26 years old, Carimi still has time to fit into the right system and provide some serviceable play. Keep in mind that Carimi may not be the long-term option but he would be able to rotate in and maybe surprise Lions fans with stellar play.
