Darius Slay
Slay had a great season last year. Shutting down the likes of Dez Bryant, Jordy Nelson, and Julio Jones. Can Slay be that guy and more next season? The chances are that yes he can. There is still working to be done by Slay. Most importantly cutting down on penalties. Slay tied for first with Ndamuhkong Suh for penalties last season with 7.
Rashean Mathis
The ageless wonder, the mentor, the Murtaugh to Slay’s Riggs. Mathis returning to the Lions helps bolster the depth at corner from a teacher aspect. Mathis is a leader on defense and the guys tend to listen to him. Can he be what he’s been the past couple seasons? or is age finally going to catch up?
Josh Wilson
The Lions weakness at corner last season was in the nickel spot. Enter Josh Wilson. The former Maryland Corner has been a starting corner in the NFL for many years. Coming off a lackluster year in Atlanta, Wilson is likely stopgap option while the Lions draft and coach up his replacement.
