It would be fitting for Detroit to take an offensive lineman with the 23rd pick, seeing as how they are banged up at the position. It’s still unclear of how head coach Jim Caldwell feels about left tackle, Riley Reiff and right tackle LaAdrian Waddle expected to miss part of the season after tearing his ACL last December.

Florida’s offensive lineman D.J. Humphries is a projected first-round pick and was hosted by the Detroit Lions on predraft visit day. The Lions have also hosted Texas A&M’s Cedric Ogbuehi and Penn State’s Donovan Smith and guard Antoine Everett out of McNeese State.
Offensive lineman is one of the most important positions in football and the key to a successful offense. Going with a big man at 23 will help the offense and give the team more depth.
