In what is now a passing league, having a running back is still very important, especially a versatile one. Detroit has a versatile back in Joique Bell but they need help. Back-up to Bell, Theo Riddick has problems staying healthy and nobody knows how long until he goes down again.

Detroit was near the bottom of the league in rushing and has consistently been at or near the bottom third since some guy named Barry Sanders left the team. Doubt there are any Barry Sanders in this draft but a good back to complement Bell will do.

Duke Johnson out of Miami and Todd Gurley (if available) out of Georgia. Both backs have the speed and versatility to fit into Detroit’s scheme.
