3. Jay Ajayi, RB, Boise State

Lions fans already seem to love their Boise State boys, (well one in particular) but running back Jay Ajayi could just have what it takes to make you forget about the other former Bronco already on the Detroit roster.

Ajayi is a hard-nosed runner and seems to play with a chip on his shoulder. He has good lateral agility and quickness for his size, which allows him to make defenders miss more often than not.

In fact, he has one of the best jump cuts I’ve seen in a while.

Some slight character concerns do linger from so trouble off the field when he was a freshman in college. Ajayi shredded his knee during an attempted home invasion and was told that his football career may be over.

Since then however, Ajayi has transformed himself into the model citizen and has silenced football critics everywhere by rushing for 3,700 plus yards during his collegiate career.

With all of those yards also comes the question of his durability. He carried the ball 751 times at Boise State, although he has shown no signs of slowing down.

One final note on Ajayi is that I love his ability to catch out of the backfield. He is among the best at it in this years draft class. Ajayi could easily drop to the third round of the NFL Draft, and if he does I fully expect the Lions to take a long hard look at him.

Next: Duke Johnson, Miami
