Week 3: Detroit Lions v.s. Denver Broncos

Ford Field – Detroit, Michigan

The Detroit Lions start the season on the road for weeks one and two in 2015, traveling to SoCal to face the San Diego Chargers in week one and up to Minnesota to take on the Vikings in week two. Following those two games the Lions will return to Detroit for their home opener to face the best regular season quarterback of all-time, Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos.

If Detroit enters week three at 1-1, I’d call that a win in itself.

The Broncos are obviously a very tough opponent, but home field advantage should help the Lions out. One thing Detroit doesn’t want to do is get into a shootout with this high-powered offense. If the defense can keep Manning in check, and the offense can find the endzone, (avoid field goals) then the Lions will have a pretty good chance.

A win will be pivotal at this early juncture of the schedule, and we don’t have to go far to see where our next key match-up will take place.
