Detroit Lions top five NFL Draft busts
By Mike Dallas
#4 Kevin Jones
Kevin Jones was selected with the 30th overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft.
Jones was drafted during the era of Lions legend Matt Millen. Coming off a great season at Virginia Tech where he rushed for nearly 1,700 yards and 21 touchdowns, selecting Jones so late in the draft was considered a steal.

Jones represented the first running back selected by the Detroit Lions in the opening round since Barry Sanders in 1989.
So, no pressure right.
He was supposed to be an immediate upgrade over the studs Detroit had at the time like Artose Pinner and Shawn Bryson.
For a rookie Jones did well. He rushed for over 1,100 yards and had five touchdowns.
After that nobody knows what happened. His production declined and was eventually cut following the 2007 season. He never rushed eclipsed the 700 yard plateau and never reached 4.0 yards per carry.
