A week or so ago I came across an interesting article about the Top 8 most hated Athletes in Detroit sports history. While the lists in some respects has athletes that you would expect to be on a list of hated athletes in Detroit. Those being players like Ndamukong Suh, Joey Harrington, and Jose Valverde.

  • There were also a few that I didn’t think were athletes that the Detroit fan base truly hated, or I just thought shouldn’t have the focus of hate by Detroit fans. Those being players such as Prince Fielder, Darko Milicic, and Brandon Inge. Milicic was hated mostly due in part to him not being Carmelo Anthony who he was taken in front of and that really wasn’t his fault.

Then players like Inge who, yes weren’t the best players on the team, but sure played day in and day out to help the team in times when the team saw 103 losses and others when the team was making it to the World Series for the first time since 1984. I also had a soft spot for Inge growing up and so hating him seems a little harsh.

However I think there are other athletes that this list missed and should not only be on, but top a list of people the city of Detroit should hate when it comes to their sports.
