MLB Power Rankings: 6-10

Last Week: 8. New York Mets . 10. player. 3. The Mets actually took the division lead over the Nationals this week, but a 3-4 record doesn’t have them rising up the board.. 30-25

30-25. Last Week: 7. San Francisco Giants . 9. player. 31. It was a rough week for the Giants — just one win in six games — but they’re still in great shape to contend for a Wild Card berth (if they don’t rise up and challenge the Dodgers).

9. The exciting young Cubs only have posted a 91 wRC+ in 2015, but they’re finding ways to win with solid pitching performances and (with a negative run differential) probably a bit of good fortune.. 28-24. Last Week: 10. Chicago Cubs . 8. player

Last Week: 11. Pittsburgh Pirates . 7. player. 4. The Pirates looked like they were floundering a couple of weeks ago, but they’ve righted the ship with eight wins in their last 10 tries. I’m not sure anyone’s going to challenge the Cardinals in the NL Central, but the Pirates are in position to threaten if they stumble.. 29-24

30-21. Last Week: 6. Kansas City Royals . 6. player. 7. Kansas City stopped looking like robots programmed to destroy the American League. They finished the week with a 2-3 record and are now 3-7 in their last 10. The record is still good, but they’re poised to start falling down the list if they don’t turn things around.
