So I tried to find some players that weren’t defensemen that the Red Wings should consider at the 19th spot and one more popular name I came across was Paul Bittner of the Portland Winterhawks. He clocks in at 6′ 4″ and is a powerful player that can frustrate the living crap out of anyone trying to defend him. Bittner is a high scoring forward that had a wonderful season in Portland. He netted 34 goals and 37 assists for 71 points and in the playoffs registered 12 points (4-8) through 17 games.

I think if the Red Wings were looking to grab up a good forward who is huge and can score, Bittner would be the guy they would want. He is a smart hockey mind, protects the puck well and if he can translate the play that frustrates players in the WHL into play that frustrates players in the NHL, well passing up on him might just be a big mistake for the team.
