Daniel Sprong, Charlottetown Islanders

An interesting pick of the bunch, Daniel Sprong is a name many don’t seem to talk about or hear. He is a forawrd from the Charlottetown Islanders. I like Sprong because he is a right-handed shot and those are rare sometimes. As for his play, it is fun to see this kid score, I highly suggest you go watch highlights of him on YouTube. In the two seasons he spent on the Islanders he racked up points. In the 2013-14 season he registered 68 points (30-38) and then followed that up next season netting 88 points (39-49).

Joe Curtis said of Sprong “…(he is) A very hard-working player who strives to improve all aspects of his game. Absolutely electric.”

Sprong is an interesting pick and if the Red Wings want a scoring forward for the future or even the now, this is their player. I think he would do very well in the Red Wings system and would be willing to pass on a defenseman for him.
