The Clippers got the best basketball of Maurice Taylor‘s career but couldn’t hold on to him past his rookie deal as Taylor, like many players of the era, got away from the Clippers as soon as he could. As a rookie, Taylor was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.
Taylor averaged 17.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in his third and final season in LA before bolting for the Houston Rockets as a free agent. He wasn’t as productive as a Rocket and his career ended with unremarkable stops with the New York Knicks and Sacramento Kings.
