The Major League Baseball trade market has been hot on Wednesday night. The New York Mets made a move to acquire Carlos Gomez from the Milwaukee Brewers, so they’re probably out in the Yoenis Cespedes sweepstakes, but things are getting hot on the David Price front.
According to the latest report by CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman, the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, Toronto Blue Jays, and New York Yankees are all in active contact with the Detroit Tigers regarding the ace left-hander.
four main teams in on price are dodgers, giants, blue jays and yankees. all are in contact with detroit.

The Dodgers are perhaps the most intriguing team here. They’ve been eyeing Price all along, and now that he’s available, they appear to be gunning hard. Bob Nightengale reports that they’re “saving bullets” to make a move on Price.
Considering #Dodgers are saving bullets for #Tigers Price; #Astros are on #Phillies Hamels' no-trade list; Hamels will wind up w #Rangers.

The interesting thing about the Dodgers, though, is that they’ve already acquired two starting pitchers today in Mat Latos and Alex Wood.
But it doesn’t sound like the Dodgers are done. In fact, they may be looking to flip some of the newly acquired pieces in order to snag Price from the Tigers.
As mentioned by @Joelsherman1, addition of Wood/Latos might not be end for #Dodgers. Could flip Wood in deal for Price or Hamels.

Asked a rival executive if he thought #Dodgers’ endgame was Hamels. He replied, “Price.” Unlikely they will stop with this deal.

Wood would be a tremendous pickup for the Tigers. He still has four years of team control remaining and has already accumulated 368 career major league innings with an impressive 3.10 ERA.
Whatever the end result, it’s sure to be an entertaining trade period. We’re still over 40 hours away from the deadline, but the rumor mill already appears to be churning at full speed.
