Detroit Tigers Trade David Price to Toronto Blue Jays

We’ll have to wait on official word from the teams, but multiple media outlets are now reporting that the Detroit Tigers and Toronto Blue Jays have completed a trade surrounding ace starting pitcher David Price.

Here is a quick scouting report on Daniel Norris from Mark Anderson (a must-follow Tigers prospect accout).

Norris is a big get for the Tigers. He fits their need as an MLB-ready starting pitcher, and now they’ll control his rights him for the next six seasons. He was the Blue Jays top prospect overall according to Baseball America.

It’s sounding like the Tigers are also getting center field prospect Anthony Alford in the deal. (See update below, Alford not part of the deal.)

UPDATE: Buster Olney reports that Alford is not going to be a part of the trade.

Bob Nightengale reports that Matt Boyd and Jairo Labourt, both pitchers, are the other minor league prospects involved in the deal.
