Detroit Tigers Trade Rumors: Tigers and Blue Jays May Be Close on Price Trade
By Matt Snyder
Things are getting hot with trade talks surrounding the Detroit Tigers and starting pitcher David Price. It’s looking like a trade may be completed today.
We’ve been hearing that the Dodgers were the apparent front runner last night, we heard that the Astros were considering making a push this morning, but now the Blue Jays appear to be charging hard.

Daniel Norris, Matt Boyd, and Anthony Alford would be an incredible haul in exchange for Price. It hardly seems realistic. Norris and Boyd are both big league ready starters (they’ve both pitched in the majors this sesaon), and both have six seasons of team control remaining.
Norris is more of a “prospect” than Boyd is, but both have seen a good amount of success through the minor leagues. Alford is a young hitter (in High-A) who would seem to carry lots of promise.
It’s not clear if the package would contain any or all of these players — it seems like an awful lot for two or three months of Price — but you never know what desperate teams will do to get a shot at the playoffs.
Stay tuned. It sounds like things could happen in a hurry.
