The 2015 Detroit Lions take the field for the first time as the New York Jets visit Ford Field for tonight’s preseason opener.

Seeing big names like Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson, DeAndre Levy and Ziggy Ansah back on the field will be cause for celebration with Lions fans but those players have nothing to prove in a preseason opener.

We know what their roles will be and there is no reason to strongly react to anything, positive or negative, we see from players like them tonight.

However, there is plenty of intrigue elsewhere and a number of players and situations worth watching as the Lions take on the Jets.
