Assuming neither Michigan State nor Oregon slip up in their season opener, this game will prove to be a matchup of Top-10 teams.
Both Michigan State and Oregon look to be in the race for their respective conference titles, and both maintain hopes of ultimately being selected to the second ever College Football Playoff. The loser wouldn’t be out of that rate — being early in the season and out-of-conference helps tremendously in this respect — but the winner certainly would have the inside track if they can maintain focus the rest of the way.
It’s nearly a coin flip, but I’m giving Michigan State the edge with the home field advantage and the always stout defense.
Predicted Record: 2-0
Next: vs. Air Force Falcons
