Daily Fantasy Picks: RUNNING BACK

August 23, 2015; Santa Clara, CA, USA; San Francisco 49ers running back Carlos Hyde (28) runs with the football against the Dallas Cowboys during the first quarter at Levi

Carlos Hyde ($7000) 49ers @ Pittsburgh – It feels easy to recommend a guy coming off a 31 point fantasy performance in week one and sometimes it is just that simple. Hyde was the #1 back in week one and gets another excellent match up against a Steelers D that is many years removed from the “Steel Curtain”.  Reggie Bush will be sitting this weekend which means Hyde will be rode hard and put away wet in this one. $7000 is far too cheap for a back getting all the carries against a bad defense coming off the best game of his young career.

Ameer Abdullah ($6400) Lions @ Minnesota – If you watched Hyde run all over the Vikings front seven last week this pick will make sense. Abdullah showed good burst and running ability in his debut despite a smallish workload. Hopefully the Lions took note of not only his yards per touch in week one but also how bad the Vikings were shredded by the run. It also wouldn’t hurt to watch Matthew Stafford turn and hand the ball off instead of throwing it to the wrong team or behind his wide receivers. Abdullah will approach 100 yards on the ground in this one along with a handful of catches to boot.

Jeremy Hill ($8400) Bengals vs San Diego – The Chargers were underrated versus the pass last season but routinely were gashed on the ground as they were 26th in the NFL last season. The Lions abandoned the ground game last week but broke off some good gains early. Hill will cost you a pretty penny this week as he is the 4th highest running back on the board but is often not mentioned in the same breath as the guys he surrounds in price (DeMarco Murray, Matt Forte, Marshawn Lynch). This play centers around his ability at the goal line as he is a legit threat for multi touchdown game every single week.  I like him to find pay dirt twice again this weekend.

Others I Like – Mark Ingram ($8000), Justin Forsett ($7800), Tevin Coleman ($6500)
