Playing in a daily fantasy sports (DFS) tournament in NFL week 3? Here are some picks to help you gain an edge.

Week two of the NFL season was a good week for daily fantasy football. The one big advantage that these sites have versus the season long sites is painfully obvious as so many owners are left scrambling and picking up the pieces following injuries in week two. If you had drafted Tony Romo or Jay Cutler as your season long quarterback, you are probably not excited about your prospects with whoever your backup might be. Carlos Hyde, Eddie Lacy, AJ Green and Julio Jones are already banged up as well and you never like to see the questionable tag this early in the season.

With the daily fantasy game, every week is like starting fresh with a new draft and the opportunity to pick from a full pool of healthy players. Tony Romo was your quarterback last week? No problem, don’t touch him this week and pick any one of the remaining 32 starting quarterbacks for your team in week three.

Week Three is another opportunity to win some money and take advantage of those value plays and discount players.

Before I jump into my picks for this weekend’s games, let me first clarify a few things. Daily fantasy offers a variety of game types with something as simple as a head to head match up versus one other opponent all the way up to tournaments with over 100,000 players. These picks will be for tournaments meaning they aren’t necessarily the “safest” selections if you are playing in a head to head match up or 50/50.
