Carson Palmer ($8200) Cardinals vs. Ravens – In the past, seeing the Baltimore Ravens on the schedule was always a stay away as they fielded one of the best defenses in the NFL for a number of years. That reputation might still be hanging on just a touch despite this incarnation of the Ravens defense being nothing like the ones in years past. Baltimore currently is allowing the most fantasy points to the QB position this season which is quite astounding considering how many bad defenses there are in the league. Palmer has been a revelation so far this season putting Arizona in the top 5 in the NFL in total offense and is currently 4th in the NFL in total passing yards. With the number of weapons that he has at his disposable, I don’t see any way that this Ravens defense will be able to slow down this high-flying Cardinals aerial attack. Palmer is the 5th most expensive QB this week, but could easily top all of them in scoring in an excellent match up Monday night.
Ryan Fitzpatrick ($7100) Jets @ Patriots – Fitzpatrick has quietly been producing solid numbers all season long for an underrated Jets offense. The addition of Brandon Marshall has given him a reliable number one receiver that is a huge threat in the red zone. The Patriots currently rank in the bottom five in the league vs. the QB and have played in a number of high scoring games. Fitzpatrick also has shown the ability to add some value on the ground scoring a touchdown last week and putting up a really nice 26 point effort against the Redskins. The price and the match up is right this weekend making Fitzpatrick a viable value option in what should be a highly competitive contest Sunday.
Landry Jones ($6000) Steelers @ Chiefs – This play obviously completely hinges on Ben Roethlisberger‘s availability for Sunday as it looks like the Steelers are preparing to play without him for one more week. Jones came on really strong in relief of Michael Vick last week and threw for two scores in a comeback Steeler win. He doesn’t really have a proven track history of success, so this play is not for the faint of heart. Luckily for him he gets to face one of the worst passes defenses in the NFL and has a ton of reliable weapons to throw to. Martavis Bryant‘s return last week bolsters this receiving crew and should give Jones a chance to easily pay off his bottom of the barrel salary.
Others I Like – Cam Newton ($8100), Andrew Luck ($8900), Phillip Rivers ($8000)
