This was the easiest player to place in the rankings because Magic Johnson is not only the best draft pick to come from Michigan State; he’s one of the best picks to come from any school.
Not much needs to be said in defense of Magic. He was the rare player who could immediately step in and play at a championship level as a rookie and could play any position in a pinch.
Over 906 career games, Magic averaged 19.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 11.2 assists per game.
