QUARTERBACK
Mark Sanchez ($6400) Eagles vs. Buccaneers – I can’t help but think of the now infamous “butt fumble” whenever talking about Mark Sanchez. Even though Sanchez had a disastrous run in New York, he still is a more than capable starting quarterback. He started 8 games last season and threw for over 300 yards in 4 of those contests. The Philadelphia system typically caters to the quarterback despite Sam Bradford not putting up great numbers. The Bucs defense has been pretty stout against the run which should force Philly to air it out a few more times especially since Tampa has given up 19 throwing touchdowns this season, third worst in the league. For a cheap tag of only $6400, Sanchez makes a nice tournament option with pretty substantial upside at his price.
Case Keenum ($4800) Rams @ Ravens – Many probably don’t remember coming on in relief in Houston late last season. He actually showed some poise in the pocked and led the Texans to back to back wins. The point I am trying to make is that he might not be horrible. I know that is a ringing endorsement, but Keenum will be handed the keys to the St. Louis offense this weekend as Nick Foles was finally benched. Todd Gurley is still the main weapon in this offense which just means that Keenum will see a little softer looks in the secondary as Baltimore will attempt to slow Gurley down. The Ravens are allowing more points to the quarterback than any other team in the league. Keenum is absolute bare minimum on Fanduel and would allow you to stack up nearly every other position. At $4800, you aren’t expecting a miracle and he should be able to reach double digits against a soft Ravens secondary.
Tom Brady ($9200) Patriots vs. Bills – The Patriots continue to win games and Brady continues to pile up numbers. If you watched their dramatic win against the Giants last weekend, you saw a little bit of everything from Brady. He wasn’t at his absolute best, lost two fumbles, and still found a way to score nearly 20 fantasy points on Fanduel. This just speaks to how miraculous of a season he is really having as he as only scored less than 20 points two games this season. If you look back to week two of this season, he torched this same Bills defense for 466 yards and 3 TD’s. Yes, Julian Edelman broke his foot and will not be available for this game. Does anyone doubt that Brady will be able to produce missing his top wide receiver? Look for plenty of Danny Amendola, plenty of Gronk, and plenty of fantasy goodness from Brady.
Others I Like – Derek Carr ($7700), Cam Newton ($8600), Matthew Stafford ($7000)
