RUNNING BACK
Adrian Peterson ($9000) Vikings @ Falcons – Since I just saved you a bunch of money with value plays at quarterback this week, let’s spend all the way up to the top with Adrian Peterson. Many of the elite running backs for fantasy this season continue to drop like flies leaving Peterson as the top priced back left. I normally don’t like to spend all the way up to the very top at any one position, but Peterson’s match up this week is just too good and I don’t trust many of the other higher priced backs. The Falcons are bottom three in points allowed to running backs and Peterson should have a field day on the turf at Atlanta.
Javorius Allen ($6300) Ravens @ Browns – Allen takes over as the every down back in place of the injured Justin Forsett this week. Allen has very little history to provide us but we do know a couple of things. Last week he came in a worked as the true single back in this offense toting the rock on early downs and also catching passes out of the backfield. The Browns are also terrible against the run and have been all season. Lastly, Matt Schaub takes over at quarterback for an injured Joe Flacco and will most likely rely on some short passes to get himself going in his first start. For the bottom of the barrel price of $6300 and with a guaranteed workload, you can do much worse than Allen despite his minimum track record of success at this level.
T.J. Yeldon ($6500) Jaguars vs. Chargers – If this is your first time reading my column I will fill you in that I love picking on the Chargers with running back plays. When those backs are priced down in the 6K range and receive 90% of their teams touches its even better. Yeldon is yet to really have a true breakout game but has received consistent work all season and has been solid in that role. He has had at least 9 points in 6 straight games and has yet to face a defense this bad against the run. Look for him to find paydirt this week and easily pay off his salary.
Others I Like – Thomas Rawls ($6300), Chris Ivory ($7000)
