Central Michigan Bowl Projection
Central Michigan treated us to perhaps the most memorable moment of the college bowl game season a year ago. After trailing Western Kentucky by 35 points when the fourth quarter began, the Chippewas mounted an incredible comeback which culminated in this crazy 75-yard touchdown as time expired.
Central Michigan opted to try for the two-point conversion and the win, but the try was unsuccessful and Western Kentucky escaped with a one point win.
Where They Might Go
The Quick Lane Bowl probably wouldn’t mind a local team taking the field in Detroit to possibly attract a larger crowd, but CBS Sports sees the Poinsettia Bowl being in play, and one ESPN analyst thinks they could head to the New Mexico Bowl.
Who They Might Play
If Central Michigan does head to Detroit for the Quick Lane Bowl they’ll likely play a 5-7 Big Ten team like Minnesota or Illinois.
If they head out west for either the Poinsettia Bowl or New Mexico Bowl, they’re likely to face a Mountain West opponent like Boise State, Colorado State, Air Force, or New Mexico.
