RUNNING BACK
David Johnson ($5900) Cardinals @ Rams – The St. Louis Rams defense has been pretty stout all season with everything except the running back. The Cardinals have been really good offensively all season in every faucet. Chris Johnson has been a revelation for the Cardinals, but is hurt and will not play this week as well as Andre Ellington. Johnson is a dynamic back that really hasn’t been given an extended look yet this year, but is a dynamic back that has excellent receiving ability. There has been some talk that Johnson may receive 25 touches this week. We have discussed this time and time again this season, touches equal production even in what seems like it could be a tougher match up. Play Johnson with confidence this weekend.
C.J. Anderson ($6800) Broncos @ Chargers – The Chargers continue to sit dead last in points allowed to the running back this season. Denver has made things extremely frustrating with their running backs but Anderson is coming off his best game of the season. There is risk involved in this pick as Ronnie Hillman continues to start and receive work. Anderson is the more dynamic back and should again outproduce Hillman. Anderson’s price still sits really low for a running back on a team that will like run the ball for the majority of the second half in this one.
Javorius Allen ($6800) Ravens @ Dolphins – Allen stepped right in last week and filled the shoes of Justin Forsett quite admirably. It looks like he will continue to be used as a receiver out of the backfield which just further cements his value at a fairly cheap price tag. He only received 12 carries last week, but was able to add 4 catches and a score. The Dolphins defense has been really bad against every position this week and Allen is due to continue to receive nearly all of the touches in the Raven backfield. Play him again until his price gets up to a “decision-making” level.
Others I Like – Darren McFadden ($7300), Jonathan Stewart ($7200)
