RUNNING BACK

LeSean McCoy ($7900) Bills @ Eagles – I am going to guess that McCoy has not put a lunch date with Chip Kelly on his calendar for this weekend. This is what is called the revenge game of all revenge games. McCoy has made it pretty clear he wasn’t happy with how he was handled during his trade to Buffalo and isn’t the biggest Chip Kelly supporter. Rex Ryan is exactly the type of coach that remembers these things and puts them in his game plan. Despite the fact that the revenge factor will be very real, McCoy is in the midst of his best football of the season topping 100 yards or scoring a touchdown in 5 straight games. The Philly defense isn’t good against the run or really against anything. I know they will focus on trying to shut him down, but I don’t think it matters this week.

Todd Gurley ($7900) Rams vs. Lions – Gurley has already established himself as one of the most dynamic running backs in the NFL despite this being his rookie season. He is coming off a stretch of games that have left him out of the game plan a bit due to the Rams falling behind early. We are all aware that the Lions typically don’t blow many teams out(with the exception of Thanksgiving) and this looks like it should be a battle. Gurley has only received 9 carries the past two weeks which has limited his opportunites to break off any big runs. The Lions have actually been pretty stout against but I think Gurley is better than anyone they have faced the past month. I think he gets back on track this weekend with a 100 yard day.

Doug Martin ($8000) Buccaneers vs. Saints – The Saints have been atrocious versus the pass all season and that is no secret in the realms of fantasy football. The truth is, they have been equally as bad against the run as well which puts Martin squarely on the radar for this weekend. The Saints are currently in the bottom five in points allowed to running backs. Martin is coming off 4 straight solid performances including a massive 235 yard day against the Eagles. Martin really doesn’t contribute catching passes, but he should get enough carries to turn his effort into a near 100 yard day with a score. Play him with confidence.

Others I Like – Lamar Miller ($6600), Matt Forte ($7800), Jonathan Stewart ($7200)
