QUARTERBACK

Russell Wilson ($8800) Seahawks vs. Browns – Wilson and company found something in their passing game 4 weeks ago as their aerial assault has been nothing short of spectacular. 16 touchdowns and nearly 1200 yards is a pretty decent month of football for Wilson. The Browns come to town this week and will attempt to slow this offense down. Since they haven’t been able to slow down really anyone this season, I don’t see them all of a sudden stepping up this week. With running back Thomas Rawls going down last week, the emphasis will be on the passing game even more as the Seahawks are still battling to get into the playoffs. Play Russell with confidence in this one.

Matthew Stafford ($7800) Lions @ Saints – The Lions offense as a whole has been pretty terrible for most of this season with the exception of two games. Stafford scored 35 fantasy points in both of those games and now takes on another really terrible defense in the Saints. The Bucs weren’t able to take full advantage last Sunday but pretty much every other opponent has. The Lions passing attack looks to be in a prime spot to have one of those breakout performances that we saw against the Bears and the Eagles. Throw in that Stafford is quite a bit cheaper than the top guys and plays in a dome in prime time, I think a great performance is coming Monday night.

Alex Smith ($7000) Chiefs @ Ravens – The Baltimore defense has been another one that I have enjoyed picking on this season. Don’t get me wrong, I like Newton, Brady, and Palmer this weekend as well. However, Smith has a price that allows you a bunch of flexibility that you don’t get when you spend 9K on the quarterback position. Smith has quietly strung together a very consistent season and very rarely puts up a terrible game. Since he has the ability to score points with his feet as well, I like this price and match up for a sneaky good play while the Panthers and Patriots might play conservative in the second half of their games.

Others I Like – Cam Newton ($9400), Drew Brees ($8000), Carson Palmer ($8700)
