David Johnson ($6500) Cardinals @ Eagles – Johnson quickly transitioned into a workhorse back for the Cardinals when injuries opened the door for him. He has averaged over 20 carries the past two games and also has added 7 receptions. The Eagles defense has struggled really bad against quarterback and receivers and they haven’t been great against running backs either. If Johnson is able to get another 20 carries and can catch a few passes, he should have no issue paying off his $6500 price tag with that much work.
Lamar Miller ($6700) Dolphins @ Chargers – The Chargers run defense has been another favorite target of mine throughout the course of this season even though there hasn’t been any notable performances the past month. I am still not a believer in them being a true run-stopping D as Miller and the Fins will look to make them pay this week. Miller openly complained about his lack of carries following only 12 touches Monday night depsite taking two of them to the house. Look for the Dolphins to feed him closer to 20 times and for them to take advantage of a soft front line. He should be an easy value play this weekend.
Denard Robinson ($6300) Jaguars vs. Falcons – The Falcons currently middle of the pack in rushing yards allowed per game but amazingly are 2nd to last in fantasy points allowed to running backs having allowed an amazing 17 touchdowns on the ground. Denard inherits a heavy workload as fellow running back T.J. Yeldon is now doubtful. Robinson can hurt defenses both on the ground and with his receiving ability and is looking at 20 or more touches. For an extremely low price with a heavy workload against a team allowing more than a touchdown a game on the ground, this seems like an easy spot to save money and get solid production.
