The US Army All-American Bowl will take place on Saturday, January 9th (1:00, on NBC). This game features several program commitments and high-profile targets Michigan football fans will want to keep their eye on. Here’s a look at ten of those players.

Michigan Football Commitments

Brandon Peters, #6 pro-style quarterback (according to 247 composite rating), wearing #18 on the West team

Brandon Peters has already signed his letter of intent to attend the University of Michigan, and is making his move to Ann Arbor next week. Being the quarterback of Jim Harbaugh’s first full recruiting class comes with high expectations. After a successful senior season and a solid week at the US Army practices, Peters looks up to the task. It’s unlikely Brandon Peters will be Michigan’s starting quarterback in 2016, but Harbaugh has made it clear everyone will get a chance to compete. We will get taste of his abilities in this game.

Jordan Elliott, #13 defensive tackle, wearing #95 on the West team

Jordan Elliot is ranked as the #13 defensive tackle largely because of a low-grade by one scouting department. Most scouting websites have him ranked higher with a chance of raising his ranking if he showed well this week. He has been one of the most dominant players during practices this week and looks to have proven the skeptics wrong. Elliott has shown explosion and burst off the snap and most offensive lineman have struggled to contain him. He will be tough to keep of the field next year and is likely be a day one contributor on a defensive line that loves to rotate lineman.

Michael Onwenu, #3 offensive guard, wearing #53 on the West team

Onwenu, Cass Tech (Detroit), is a physical freak of nature. He stands at 6’3″ and tips the scales at over 350 pounds (the scales maxed out at 350). Somehow, according to beat writers, he doesn’t look sloppy carrying around the weight. He must carry it around in his muscles, because he is reportedly the strongest lineman in the game. Here’s where it gets scary: he might also be the quickest. More than one report this week has stated, once he gets his hands on a defender it’s over. Onwenu is slotted to compete at right guard at Michigan and his ability to contribute early looks very possible. When you pair him with future left guard Ben Bredeson, the future looks bright for the Michigan run game.
