The Detroit Pistons start the second half of their season against the Houston Rockets for the first contest of a four-game road trip.

The first half of the Detroit Pistons’ 2015-16 season is over, marking the unofficial start of the team’s push for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. At 22-19, the Pistons currently sit in playoff position but their resurgent season has coincided with a resurgence of the conference as a whole.

After three years of the eighth seed finishing the regular season with just 38 wins, nine Eastern Conference teams currently have records of .500 or better. With just a game and a half cushion over the ninth place Orlando Magic, the Pistons have little room for error.

The Pistons start the second half of the season with a four-game road trip that starts tonight against the Houston Rockets. The Pistons raced out to a big lead in their 116-105 win over the Rockets back on November 30. However, the Rockets went on a run to keep the Pistons from cruising down the stretch and the flipping of home court could lead to a different result this time around.

With the race in the East so close, getting the road trip off to a good start is important. With games at the New Orleans Pelicans, Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz, a 2-2 road trip at a minimum should be the bar to meet.
