The Detroit Pistons need a win over the Utah Jazz tonight to end their four-game road trip with an even 2-2 record after faltering against the Nuggets.
It has been two-straight disappointments for the Detroit Pistons since getting their four-game road trip off to a good start with a win over the Houston Rockets.
Thursday night’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans was one of those games that just doesn’t go right from the very beginning and doesn’t really turn around. Effort was lackluster on both ends of the floor – perhaps as a result of playing the night before – and it had that feeling of a loss early on.
Saturday night was a different story but was a disappointment none the less. An early double-digit lead was still a nine point advantage at the half but a 39-point third quarter put the Nuggets in control. The Pistons recovered to take a lead but it was the Nuggets who made plays down the stretch to get the win.
If the Pistons are to salvage a .500 road trip, they need win over the Utah Jazz tonight. Doing so would give the Pistons a season sweep of the Jazz after getting a 92-87 win way back on October 28 in the home opener.
The Jazz return home from a four-game road trip that was cut to three games when Saturday night’s game against the Washington Wizards was postponed by the winter storm that hit the Eastern U.S.
