Detroit Lions: Top Five 2016 Offseason Needs
By Zac Snyder
The Detroit Lions enter the offseason with plenty of needs to fill in free agency and the 2016 NFL Draft. Here’s the top 5 positions in need of attention.
The Detroit Lions‘ 2015 season was a disappointment after 2014’s 11-win season and playoff berth. Instead of a step forward, it was a step back, even after a 6-2 record in the second half of the season.
No team is ever really a finished product as there is always room for improvement on any NFL roster, but the 2015 season highlighted many deficient areas in need of attention this offseason.
Matthew Stafford cemented himself as the team’s quarterback going forward with the best eight-game stretch of his career after a poor start to the season. The quarterback depth chart needs work to improve over Dan Orlovsky and add a legitimate upside prospect. But with Stafford in place, quarterback sits somewhere low on the list of priorities.
The same can be said for other positions, like running back. Is there room to improve? Sure, but the need is not as pressing.
Here are the top five needs for the Lions to address this offseason.
