Michigan football returns 16 starters from the 2015 team that went 10-3. Cracking the starting lineup won’t be easy for a new recruit, but not impossible.

As the Michigan football team makes its final preparations for National Signing Day (Wed. Feb. 3), seven early enrollees are already in school, going to class and participating in winter conditioning.

Of the seven, there’s a good chance a few of them will be in the starting lineup when Michigan hosts Hawaii in the season opener (Sept. 3).

Early enrollees graduated high school in December, giving them an opportunity to show their stuff when spring practice begins in March.

Positions that should be open are fullback and SAM (outside) linebacker. Longshots would be running back and quarterback, where the depth chart is definitely crowded.

Here are the four early enrollees who could surprise this fall.
