Detroit Pistons vs. Toronto Raptors: Game Time, TV, Radio, Live Stream
By Zac Snyder
Wins against teams in playoff position have become scarce for the Detroit Pistons. They look to get one tonight when they host the Toronto Raptors.
It has been over a month since the Detroit Pistons last beat an Eastern Conference opponent who is currently in a playoff position. You have to go back to January 6 when the Pistons won a road game against the Boston Celtics for such a win with losses to the Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers since that win.
Add in games against Eastern Conference non-playoff teams and Western Conference opponents and the Pistons have gone just 7-9 since that win in Boston. The skid hasn’t cost the Pistons a spot in the playoffs as of today but they have sunk to eighth in the conference standings with just a game and a half cushion remaining over the ninth-place Charlotte Hornets.
The rest of the Eastern Conference hasn’t run away from the Pistons just yet as there are still just 3.5 games between the Pistons and the three seed currently held by the Boston Celtics.
The Pistons get another crack at one of the East’s top teams tonight when the Toronto Raptors visit The Palace of Auburn Hills. They made a run at the Raptors when they played in Toronto nine days ago but playing from behind was too much to overcome before ultimately losing 111-107.
