The Detroit Tigers need a few players to return to previous form if they hope to compete for an AL Central crown in 2016.

The Detroit Tigers had the right pieces to contend for a fifth straight AL Central title in 2015. Instead, they were hampered all season with injuries. Their rival Kansas City Royals would end up winning their first World Series in 30 years, while the Tigers finished last in their division.

The bullpen has been improved, and owner Mike Illitch has opened up his checkbook, acquiring some of the elite free agents this past offseason that make the Tigers a serious threat out of the American League.

But, in order for the Tigers to reclaim their position as a dominant force in baseball, they will need five players to bounce back to old form.
