The Detroit Red Wings look to snap a two game losing streak and get a crucial two points tonight as they face the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Detroit Red Wings fanbase is almost in full panic mode right now. The Red Wings have lost two straight games, Petr Mrazek has become human, Dylan Larkin has struggled and the Red Wings have slipped to the last playoff spot in the East.
I am here to tell anyone who might be nervous to calm down. The two games the Red Wings lost to the Blackhawks the Hawks outplayed the Red Wings. Games like that are going to happen in the NHL.
The Red Wings play the second game of this eight games in 14 day stretch and thankfully for them they face the lowly Blue Jackets. Although the Blue Jackets have had the Red Wings number lately as the Blue Jackets are 9-2-2 in their last 13 games.
Petr Mrazek has become human which is very worrisome to Red Wings fans. He was pulled after giving up two goals on five shots on Sunday against the Hawks. Since the game against the Boston Bruins, which was Mrazek’s birthday, he hasn’t looked very good.
In fact, as Ansar Khan says Mrazek is 3-3-1 in his last seven appearances. Jimmy Howard on the other hand has turned the corner. He has been stellar in his last couple starts and is getting a well deserved start tonight.
Do the Red Wings have a goaltending controversy? I personally don’t think so but if Jimmy Howard continues to outplay Mrazek then the Red Wings most likely will have a controversy.
The Red Wings do need a win tonight though. Jimmy Howard can help the Red Wings and himself if he has another strong outing tonight.
Here is all the information for tonight’s game:

Tonight is a big game. There is no shame in losing to one of the best teams in the league but now the Red Wings play one of the worst teams in the league. The Red Wings should beat the Blue Jackets. Will they though?
I think they do win tonight. Jimmy Howard has a big game and the Red Wings win 4-1.
