Home of last year’s World Series champions, the American League Central has become one of baseball’s most competitive divisions, and the window to win is dwindling for the Detroit Tigers. Their core of Justin Verlander, Miguel Cabrera, and Victor Martinez is growing old, and prone to injury.

When healthy, the Tigers can be one of the most feared teams in all of baseball. With the addition of slugger Justin Upton and ace Jordan Zimmermann, the prospects of the Tigers making a postseason reunion seems bright.

But, if the Detroit Tigers want to get back to old form, they will need the help of these five young stars who are poised to breakout in the upcoming season.
