Detroit Pistons at Washington Wizards: Game Time, TV, Radio, Live Stream
By Zac Snyder
The Detroit Pistons conclude a four-game road trip against the Washington Wizards in a matchup of teams fighting for a playoff spot in the East.
Clinging to final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, this and every game down the stretch is big for the Detroit Pistons. The challenge in tonight’s meeting with the Washington Wizards will be making sure to match their opponent’s energy and intensity. As Stan Van Gundy noted today, this game is big for the Pistons but it is huge for the Wizards.
The Wizards come in to tonight’s game fading from the playoff picture because of a five-game losing streak the Pistons hope to extend to six. At 30-35 they sit two and a half games back of the Pistons for the Eastern Conference’s eighth seed with the Chicago Bulls also standing in their way on the outside looking in. If the Wizards are going to mount one last challenge for a playoff berth, it will have to start tonight.
The Pistons have already guaranteed themselves of at least a .500 road trip because of wins in Dallas and Philadelphia, but fell flat in their only game on the road trip against an Eastern Conference playoff contender. They fell behind early to the Charlotte Hornets, offering little resistance on the defensive end and couldn’t score enough consistently to keep pace.
Unfortunately for the Pistons, meetings with the Wizards haven’t gone well this season, particularly the last time in Washington when the Pistons laid an egg coming out of the All-Star Break despite being well rested.
With a nine-game home stand waiting for them on the other side of tonight’s game, it is time to buckle down to get an important win.
