No. 8 Seed

As mentioned before, the computers all like the nines better than the eights, but some of the matchups are quite close. Saint Joseph’s is the best pick of the group with a 45.6% chance to beat Cincinnati. Still, you’re probably best sticking with No. 9 seeds this year.

No. 7 Seed

One would think that No. 7 seeds should be strong favorites over No. 10 seeds, but only one seven is favored to win by more than 60%. That team is Iowa, who has a 74% chance to beat Temple in the first round.

No. 6 Seed

Like the No. 7 seeds above, the N0. 6 seeds look curiously shaky when compared to their No. 11 seeded opponents. No team on this seed line tops 70% odds to win their game, but Texas does lead the group with a 68.6% chance to beat No. 11 seed Northern Iowa.

No. 5 Seed

This is our second seed line in which all four teams are favored to win in the first round (the first was No. 9s, remember?). Of the four favorites, however, Indiana stands out above the rest. The Big Ten regular season champs are being given 83.9% odds to beat No. 12 Chattanooga (who the rankings see more like a ‘true’ No. 14).
