Detroit Red Wings at Montreal Canadiens: Game Time, TV, Radio, Live Stream
By Mike Rizzo
The Detroit Red Wings survived a scare as the Buffalo Sabres scored twice to make it a one-goal game. The Red Wings now head to Montreal to face the Habs.
The Detroit Red Wings got a much needed win last night against the Buffalo Sabres. As is the case with most of the Red Wings games lately, this win was more nerve wracking then it had to be.
The Red Wings led 2-0 on goals by Dylan Larkin and Riley Sheahan. No goals were scored in the third until the Sabres pulled Chad Johnson with three minutes left and Luke Glendening scored in the empty net.
That goal gave the Red Wings a 3-0 lead but just ten seconds later Zemgus Girgensons scored to end Jimmy Howard‘s shutout hopes. One minute later, Sam Reinhart scored to make it a one goal game.
The fans definitely had to be on the edge of their seat as the game was slipping away. Also, to make matters worse the Philadelphia Flyers had just won in overtime.
Thankfully the Red Wings held on to win as Jimmy Howard made a great save to seal the win and let the fans breathe a sigh of relief for at least a day.
For 57 minutes, the Red Wings dominated play and finally had a strong defensive effort last night.
Tonight, the Red Wings face Montreal who they beat just days ago 4-3. The Flyers are off until tomorrow when they play the President Trophy winners, the Washington Capitals.

As of this writing no goalie has been announced but I think it’s going to be Petr Mrazek as this is a back end of a back to back. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if Jimmy Howard gets another start since Mrazek has been struggling since his injury.
