The Detroit Tigers welcome in the New York Yankees for 2016’s home opening series in the Motor City.

After two games in beautiful Miami — made even more beautiful by a pair of Detroit Tigers victories — the travel schedule turns back to Detroit for Opening Day at Comerica Park.

It’s typically chilly in early April in Michigan, but this year’s Opening Day festivities will be colder than most with Friday’s game time temperature forecasted to be 38 degrees.

The next two games won’t bring better weather as Saturday’s high temperature is only supposed to be 32 degrees and Sunday’s game will take place when the sun goes down as part of ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball.

To make matters worse, all three days carry a fair chance of precipitation, whether that be rain or snow/sleet (though Friday is supposed to be clear until about 4:00 p.m.). Not ideal baseball weather, to say the least.
